Mayowa Adelugba Participates in Student Conference in Business

2013 May 8

Siena College students showcased collaborative research and celebrated their success at the 8th Annual Student Conference in Business. Students had paired with professors to create presentations on research in one of four fields: marketing, economics, entrepreneurship and management information systems.

Mayowa Adelugba, class of 2014, submited an economics project titled "Impact of the Great Recession on the Boys and Girls Club of America: A Study of the Financial Effects," along with Oderah Anosike, William Ryan and Mehvish Bhatti.

Adelugba, who was mentored by Dr. Arindam Mandal, is a Economics major from Clifton Park, NY.

Siena College President Fr. Kevin Mullen '75, O.F.M., Ph.D. applauded this year's student participants. "This is one of the premier examples of students and faculty working together to collaborate," Mullen said. He added that this collaboration not only advances learning now, but also helps these undergraduates prepare for the future.

Students also had the opportunity to hear first-hand that a Siena education can lead to achievements in the business world.

Siena graduate John Bellardini '86, vice president of finance at for the yogurt company Chobani, Inc., delivered the Conference's keynote address. Bellardini credits his success in business to the respect and morals he developed in college. "These are real things, and it's really what Siena has prepared you for," Bellardini said. "It's doing the right thing - always."
