Founded in 1937, Siena College is a private, Catholic Franciscan, residential, liberal arts college with a student body of about 3,000. Siena College offers 36 degree programs, 80-plus minors and certificate programs, and professional curricula in teacher preparation/education, pre-medical, pre-law and social work. A student-to-faculty ratio of 11-to-1, average class size of 21, rigorous academics, Division I athletics, intramural sports and widespread service and advocacy experiences nurture each student's personal growth while providing the education of a lifetime.

Saints Around the World: San Jose, Costa Rica

Emily's one of six Saints spending a January Term in Costa Rica. Each student got to choose whether to spend the three weeks as a volunteer in healthcare, teaching, animal care, or construction. Emily's teaching English to children at a daycare.

As you might expect, the class explores the art and architecture of the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. Area Residents Travel to Italy for Study Tour

During winter break, 22 students, joined eight faculty members on a trip to Italy, the birthplace of the Franciscan tradition on which Siena College was founded. The trip, called “Religious Treasures of Italy,” took the group on a tour around the country, exploring the historic and religious aspects of each city visited, including Rome, Venice, Florence, Assisi and, of course, Siena.
