Junior Took Home Three Individual Victories Saturday

Siena cross country senior Nick Cornine and senior field hockey forward Danielle DeGroot have been selected as Siena College's Leo Dufort Student Athletes of the Month for October. The duo is being honored for their success both on the field and in the classroom.

Siena Basketball senior guard Marquis Wright has been heralded as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The Waldorf, Maryland product erupted for a career-high tying 31 points in leading the Saints to an 89-78 season-opening win over Cornell Sunday.

Siena volleyball senior outside hitter Briana Flagg and senior libero Kalehua Katagiri were named to the All-MAAC teams, as selected by the league's 10 head coaches. Flagg was named to the First Team, while Katagiri earned Second Team honors.

Sophomore defender Jaycie St. John and freshman goalkeeper Mary Crumlish were named to the All MAAC Second Team as announced by the conference Thursday night. Eight Saints were also recognized as members of the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Siena soccer captain Kristen Connors from the women's team and David Itoafa from the men's squad have been selected as Siena College's Leo Dufort Student Athletes of the Month for September. The pair is being honored for their success both on the soccer field and in the classroom.

Siena Women's Soccer senior captain Tara Sobierajski has been named the 2016 Metro Athletic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Rockaway, New Jersey standout also became the first player in program history to be heralded as a three-time First Team All-MAAC selection.

Siena Women's Soccer junior striker Kelsey Horst has been heralded as the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. The Chalfont, Pennsylvania native earns the honor for the first time in her career, after totaling seven points and scoring the game-winning goals in each of Siena's victories last week.

Siena Soccer freshman striker Matt Crisafulli has been heralded as the MAAC Wilson Rookie of the Week. The Selkirk, New York product came off the bench to score his second goal in his first three collegiate matches in Friday's 2-2 tie against Binghamton.

For the second time in three weeks, Siena Soccer freshman midfielder Conor McGlynn has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week. The Middle Village, New York standout tallied four points on a game-winning goal and two assists over two matches last week.
